Samantha's Project is sending 5th through 8th grade youngsters to
Russia in the Fall of 2009. This is a part of the world Americans need to
better understand, a country often portrayed as an "enemy" place.
Samantha went to the Soviet Union in 1983 because she wanted to see
if the people there really were as evil as she had been led to believe.
She wanted to understand Russia and Russian people. Her visit in
1983 helped Russians and Americans to see each other clearly and
appreciate each other more.
Maybe you are a young person who can follow in Samantha's footsteps!
If you are, then choose an adult (your teacher, your coach, a parent) to
go along with you. You must be accompanied by someone over 18
years of age.
It will not be a vacation! It will be work as you learn and experience a
different and sometimes strange world.
When you come back, your classmates and people in your country will
want to learn about your trip! You must tell them about your amazing
experience.
If you want to learn more about this trip, click Apply above.
Samantha's Prize will be awarded to one youngster and an accompanying adult from Plainfield or Cornish, NH, to participate in Samantha's Project without cost.
Application deadline for Samantha's Prize is January 31, 2009.
Samantha's Prize will be awarded in March, 2009.
